Wild Ones First Mountain Chapter

Welcome to Wild Ones First Mountain Chapter! As a seedling chapter going into 2026, we are just getting started to organize and determine how best to bring a passion for native plants to existing and new residents. As a fast-growing area with lots of development, it is important to protect and preserve existing ecosystems, and to restore native plants where they have been lost. At the southern edge of the Appalachians, Gilmer, Pickens, and Dawson counties have incredible biodiversity to treasure.

Wild Ones chapters are a space where like-minded people gather to support each other in learning about landscaping with native plants and to share with others in their communities and networks about why it’s important to protect existing and introduce more native plants into public and private gardens and how to go about doing it. Chapters are where change happens. We are excited to offer local residents the opportunity to expand their impact in the natural landscaping movement and help promote native plants!
